Saturday Is Approaching Fast!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I’ve booked a hair appointment for today, let’s hope it isn’t a catastrophe. I’ve asked for half a head of highlights. It’s been well over a year since I had blonde hair, a nice change will suit my new start in London on Saturday! It’s all ready and raring, my dad is letting me live in his Annexe instead of a poxy caravan in his garden. Much better! It’ll take me two or three trips to get everything there, potentially a weekend of driving upto 700 miles but it’s all worth it once everything is there.

I’ve not been able to update a great deal as my mum is off work this week so she’s been in the house and spends all her time sat in the living room. Unfortunately there isn’t wireless internet here so I’m having to sit with her when I go online and can only do so for a few hours every couple days. My dad still has wireless (I think) so I’ll be back into updating when I get there and settled.

I’ve also a job there. It’s skip removal which basically means lifting heavy furniture and such all day but it beats being unemployed and I’ll be working with my dad so I guess he’ll take some as rent and I’ll get a little bit of cash every week, just until I find something permanent and full-time in an office. All is working out for the best it seems. I’m very pleased :)

A Day With Aleah

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

My niece has grown up so fast. It feels like only a few months ago that I was back in school waiting for the phonecall to find out my sister had given birth to a gorgeous baby girl. Now four years later she’s just started school and has turned into a proper madam. Oh, she’s just so adorable!

I picked her up from school and she came running out and jumped at me. I don’t get to see her often because I’m always moving around and live far away from my family so it’s always nice to be able to spend time with her on my own. I drove us into town so I could go to the bank and she’s dangling from my arm kissing my hand and telling me how she loves me more than the universe and even more than chocolate bars (wow!).

I took a few pictures but this is the cutest by far. Awww, I love kids. But only in the sense that I love looking after other people’s kids. Because that way, when they get grumpy or miserable you can just give them back. I’m not sure if I can have children myself but if I were ever able to or had to adopt, it’d be a long long time into the future. I really don’t think I have the energy for one, especially Aleah. Perhaps I gave her too many fizzy drinks…
