The Joy Of Life

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I feel like things are only getting better and better by the day. I am so ecstatic, I can’t describe how happy I am with my life right now. Everything is fresh and new, no more pull backs or put downs. Just me in my prime making the best of my life. Going out, having a great time with Nicola, the best friend a girl could ask for! Spending more time with John, getting to know eachother a lot better. Going to the fair, going to parties, shopping.

I’m moving out on the 8th September providing I can find somewhere as soon as possible into a studio flat of my own. People are willing to help if I can’t quite cover the costs of a deposit straight away which I think is simply amazing! I’m picking up my car tomorrow, after not owning one for 7 months (damn that was hard), I’m back in contact with some of my closest friends from the town I moved from and I’m visiting my mum this weekend before I drive to London to go to a themepark with my friends! I’ve got new clothes, new shoes, even a new hairstyle! I put caramel coloured highlights in and it looks so much better, a nice new look!

Also, I got a new phone! Oh man.. everything is just new, fresh, amazing. A whole new start. A whole new me!

Money Equals Car!

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

So I got a quote from the compensation company. Finally! £1900. It’s the bottom of the scale for my type of injury but I guess it’s okay. I did expect more considering the hassle I had to deal with but it’s better than no money at all, or a thousand!

With £1900 it means I can finaly get myself a new car. The cheque will arrive in two to three weeks. I’ll pay off a month of rent straight away which means any income for four weeks is mine, which is good news! It’s easier to save that way. Then a second hand car from a garage somewhere with a few months insurance paid off up front. I’m happy about this whole thing.

Having a car will make going back to work so much easier. I don’t want to work in this town, I can’t stand it. With a car I can work further out without worrying about busses running late or crowded trains. Hooray for good news, if only every day I had news like this! I’d be a very happy Laura :)

Adding new content today. Keep an eye out, lots of tutorials and freebies :)

A Shade of Lobster

Monday, July 28th, 2008

I spent a long long time on the beach yesterday. And it shows. I fell asleep out in the sun with no sunblock and well, my face is a deep shade of red, my legs burn like mad and my arms have a gorgeously dark tan on them. I was up all night last night being sick and today I’ve not felt too good at all. I’m not sure if it’s still the sunstroke or the fact that I drank about 12 pints of water and ate a big chinese meal, hah.

As for other things, not too much going on as usual. My life has recently become so dull I feel like I’m in one of those olden day films that don’t actually have a point to them. You watch it through and suddenly it’ll end and you’re sat there wondering why you just wasted 90 minutes of your life on such rubbish. I need to be doing something but I’m signed off work still because of what happened in May and I’m not particularly ready to go back to work yet.

I’m hoping to recieve my compensation money by the end of August or sometime around that point. If it’s enough, I’ll buy a car and pay off a little insurance then use the rest to pay for a deposit on a flat in Exeter. This place isn’t my cup of tea and since everything that’s happened here, I have a very negative opinion. Moving to Exeter would cheer me up. Yay :)

I forgot to post again!

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Damn me and my forgetful mind. I seriously did completely forget about my blog for a while. Though I’ve had other things on my mind, I still should have updated to let you know I was okay. Which I am. In fact I’m pulling along quite well. Sam and I have been talking about moving to Surrey (London), where I grew up. It’s 200 miles from where we are now but it’s definitely what I want. I’m back and forth from that damned place but this time I want it to be a permanent move and Sam is backing me all the way, so it looks like we’re set to go as soon as we can afford a huge down payment on a flat. Looking to move before Christmas, so we can spend it there together :)

Other things are generally still pretty crappy. Not been feeling too great the past few weeks but pulling along as normal. Money is very tight and I’ve been living off 8p noodles again, but food is food and I even managed to scrape enough to treat myself to a Chinese dinner tonight!

You may be shocked to know that I also join a gym. Sam paid for my membership and well… best choice I’ve ever made I think! I just want to tone up a little, get back into the small clothes I used to wear. I’m not far off, they’re just a bit tight on the thighs/bum. My top half is still small though my arms are pretty flabby haha :( But I start as I mean to go on and this diet is the best I’ve been on in a while.

Anyway this was just a quick update as it’s 4am and I’m not really up to typing a whole essay out about how boring and uneventful my life has been the past few weeks. So I’ll stop here and let you get on. But yeah.. I’m still around. Just been a little quiet recently :)

An online teen website

Friday, April 18th, 2008

So I started an online “magazine” type of site, designed to give advice and the latest gossip to teens all around the world. It contains the articles that used to feature on Dusted Petals plus a whole lot more. The site is located at Smoochable.ORG, go see! :)

So a few things. Blossom, the new hamster has settled in. She keeps me up all night unlike Mr Ham, he was too fat to do anything much, hah. I’ve booked a hair appointment too, for highlights and a cut. Not had it trimmed since last October so as you can imagine it’s getting a little out of control. I booked it for Tuesday so I can go away on the Friday with my new do.

I’ll be travelling back to Somerset next Friday to celebrate my birthday (on the 29th April). I’m meeting with my best friend back from school, we haven’t caught up in years so it’s going to be great. We’ll probably shop in the day and go to a few clubs on the Saturday night. Tuesday I’ll be back in Devon for my birthday.

Also - I’ve decided to go back to College in September but it’ll be in Somerset where I used to go to college, so I’ll need to save for a car plus the course fees by September. I’m being tight with my money but it’ll be worth it in the end. Also - the compensation money I get from the car accident will help a lot, whatever amount it turns out to be. So wish me luck with that! I’ll need around £3500 altogether, to buy a car and pay the insurance off for a year plus around £900 course fees, possibly more.

Sam better get me something nice, hehe
